Paris-based production and distribution outfit Oble announces new international sales for its series Early Birds, No Return to CANAL+ Luxembourg (M7 Group) for its CEE markets (Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania), CANAL+ Polska and Life Goes On to TV5MONDE.

Oble struck a deal with CANAL+ Luxembourg for the two seasons of Ukrainian young adult series Early Birds. As a result, the two-part 8x50’ drama produced by Starlight Media will reach audiences in Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Romania as part of the company’s local SVOD offerings. This poignant series dives into the intimacy of a group of teenagers, revealing their struggle with cyber-bullying, identity and social exclusion.

The Plague is Alongside Early Birds, CANAL+ Luxembourg also acquired No Return (6x52’), introducing the French-Canadian-flavored whodunnit to European screens for the first time. The hit Agatha Christie-esque murder-mystery produced by Sphere Media captivated serieslovers when it premiered on Bell Media’s Noovo linear channel and its premium SVOD service Crave, becoming the most watched drama in the history of the broadcast network. Polish viewers will get the chance discover this dark and twisted thriller as well, as Oble secures the rights’ sale with CANAL+ Polska for its Ale kino+ Basic TV channel and OTT service “CANAL+ online”.

Finally, Life Goes On will travel worldwide thanks to Oble’s deal with TV5MONDE. The heartwarming Swiss family dramedy with a modern superwoman at its heart deals tenderly with the small daily worries and big existential crises of an almost functional family. Its intimate yet universal themes and endearing characters brighten up the genre. Originally produced by Point Prod and broadcasted on RTS, the six-part drama starring Audrey Dana was presented at La Rochelle’s 2022 Festival de la Fiction.

“We are thrilled with the global success of these three fantastic series”, said Katia Sol, cofounder of Oble. “At Oble we are committed to bringing stories that resonate in today’s society to new audiences around the globe. Stories that educate, entertain and inspire. We are convinced that great storytelling knows no boundaries and these three shows are a perfect example of the engaging content we strive to share with the world.”
