Oble Inks First Latin American Deal in a Series of International Drama Sales
November 30th, 2021
Oble has struck its first Latin American deal for premium drama, along with a raft of additional international sales. Over 60 hours of Oble’s high-end drama content has been acquired by Globoplay, Brazil’s largest video streaming platform, TV JOJ in Slovakia and Walter Presents via C More in the Nordics.
Oble continues to drive global success for Gold Diggers (aka Russian Affairs), one of the most watched series ever in Russia. The French drama specialist has inked agreements with Brazil’s Globoplay, Slovakia’s broadcaster TV JOJ and Walter Presents Nordics for all three series of this popular glossy crime drama (24 x 52). This glitzy gripping thriller follows Detective Lena Shirakova (Darya Moroz) as she’s tasked with investigating a murder in the underbelly of Moscow’s glamourous super-wealthy elite in this addictive hit series.

From the same producer START comes gripping new crime thriller A Good Man, which Oble has also sold to Walter Presents via C More in the Nordics and popular Slovak commercial TV broadcaster TV JOJ. First broadcast in Russia in 2020, A Good Man is a tense nine-part drama (9 x 52) inspired by the real-life manhunt for the ‘Maniac of Angarsk’, Russia’s most prolific and brutal serial-killer and rapist, responsible for murdering over 80 women between 1992-2012.
Finally, Oble has struck a deal with TV JOJ for timely French-Canadian series The Outbreak (Epidemie). This ten-episode thriller from the award-winning Canadian producer Sphere Media is based in present-day Montreal where a highly contagious, deadly virus is rampaging through a vulnerable group of ostracised homeless people. The deal with Slovak commercial TV broadcaster TV JOJ marks Oble’s 8th sale for this acclaimed hit drama, which has sold all over the world including into Japan, Russia, Middle East and Turkey.
